My Cebu
A city with golden hope and opportunity... I said this because this is the city where I started to explore my future. Enshrouded with innocence and naivety, it was in this city where building my dream have begun. Aside from the education that I have attained from a school in this city where I feel much indebted, I also feel a strong emotional bond to this homeland. Like Oroquieta City, where my maternal roots have opened up my existence, it was in Barili, Cebu where the blood of my maternal forefathers have planted their tree of legacy.

  Abundance of Beauty
From the central mountains to the coral sands, the island is a natural wonder. Most of the archipelago's 8,120 species of flowering plants can be found in Cebu. 5,832 are unique to the country. Birds migrating from Russia enroute to Australia stop at the Olango Bird Sanctuary. Mountains streams cascade from misty heights to the sea. Colorful butterflies contrast with flocks of noisy birds. Some of the wold's best scuba diving is located around Cebu's shore and there are regular sightings of dolphins and whales in the surrounding seas. A tree of legacy usually starts from the root to the top, and that's how I describe this woman's legacy that she has built into this land of golden hope and opportunity. Her legacy as the first woman governor of Cebu constitutes many of her great attributes and values. Her over two decades of public service with extraordinary performance only proves her strength and resilience in battling the world of male domination. Her talent as a financial planner enlivens her ability to be a system's reformer. Her intellectual ability surmounts her skills to perform various tasks in order to mold a City and Province into the 21st century. As a woman, a performer and an achiever, I salute her.
